The pre (or original design), to me, looks more unique, technical & serious while giving off a more mechanical feel of form following function (which is exactly why I think they kept it on the M3 the whole time). Also think the original design fits in better with the overall design & feel of the car
Pre-facelift! Absolutely. They wouldn't have kept it on the M3 if it wasn't the best. I always feel so alone on the facelift train. : (. Sup. Few issues with it but it wouldn’t be an e46 if it didn’t have any. The facelift looks good in saloon form but for coupe pre all day every day. The pre facelift is simply the greatest. It shows that because they kept the same lights for the M3.

Certain cars were better before their facelift whilst others are desperate for an update.
