130/90-R18 tires are 0.71 inches (18 mm) larger in diameter than 120/90-R18 tires and the speedometer difference is 2.6%.
90/80-R17 tires are 1 inch (25.4 mm) smaller in diameter than 80/90-R18 tires and the speedometer difference is 4.2%
The drawback to the Fatty front is that it is not as precise as an 80/100-21 or a 90/90-21 on hardpack. These days there are a number of companies that offer a larger front tire. I have used the Shinko Fatty MX216, the Motoz Tractionator and the Golden Tyre GT 216AA Fatty quite a bit, and each tire has definite strengths.
